Colargol at Home and Abroad

Colargol's current location: At home

Norfolk, England, February 21-25, 2011

Seaside is always one of Colargol's favorite places, like this one in Norfolk! However, it's still too cold for swimming in February. Norwich is in the middle of Norfolk, and in the middle of Norwich is this medieval cathedral.

English houses look so pretty but they can be a bit cold during wintertime. This house in Bacton-on-sea has a view to old ruins of an abbey. Gromer is a seaside city with many attractions like a pavillion over the sea.

Transylvania, September 5-11, 2010

There's a hidden fountain on the main square of the old city of Sibiu. If you are not careful you may get wet all over! City walls look nice as long as you don't actually need them.

The famous Bran castle. Wonder if there's anybody at home? Colargol on the roof of the castle after meeting Count Dracula who was actually a rather nice fellow and preferred tea over fresh blood. He's only telling horror stories because they're good for the business!

Camino Francés, León - Santiago de Compostela, Spain, June 12-26, 2010

"It's a long way to Santiago, it's a long way to go!" Fortunately, Colargol didn't have to walk all of it on his little feet. Instead, he had a comfortable apartment in the backpack. Mountains are great since otherwise you couldn't say to yourself: "I wonder what lies on the other side of that mountain. Let's go and see!"

A castle might look like a good place to live in but it's cold inside and if you lock yourself in there you'll miss all the wonderful things that are happening elsewhere! The most noticeable thing about Spanish countryside is that there is a lot of it. Since this isn't Wild West, Colargol thought that it might be a bad idea to ride a cow.

And here we are, dressed like a true pilgrim with staff and all! Between dawn and dusk
between greetings and goodbyes
the little moments of happiness
give us strength to go on.

Waiting for the night train back to Madrid.

Yo-ho! Is there anybody home? Nordine! I thought that I'd never see you again!

Bear hug! Now we don't have to get separated any more, right?

Season's Greetings December 25, 2009

It's cold, it's dark and there's snow everywhere! What could be a better time to celebrate friendship by giving presents. This Christmas Colargol got a warm scarf and a beanie!

Colargol's Christmas 2009

Merry Christmas! Joyeux Noël! Wesołych Świąt!

Tallinn, Estonia, September 13, 2009

"Small steps are better than none" thought Colargol as he made his first journey over the Gulf of Finland and visited the old Hanseatic city of Tallinn on a beautiful early autumn day. There were only two hours reserved for walking around the city and many places were too crowded for a small bear and thus only a couple of photos were taken. The world looks a bit intimidating when you are only ten inches tall!

Did you know that a seasoned seaman is called a 'sea bear' in Finnish? Colargol got a new French style sailor hat with a cute pompon for the trip and wanted to use it right away despite the gusty wind that almost swept it overboard! A rare behind the scenes shot of Colargol getting ready for a photo session.
